Video: What's In My Mom Bag | February 2017
Every month or so I switch out the bags I use to carry all my mom, work and my son's stuff. It's a lot of stuff. I was feeling in a rustic mood, style-wise, so I picked two oldie but goodies: a tote-style leather handbag I was inspired to buy by Fixer Upper's Joanna Gaines, and the Lily Jade Elizabeth diaper bag that started me on my momblog/mom YouTube odyssey. When I discovered Lily Jade bags, I was looking for something that would allow me to carry my mom stuff, my son's epi-pens and allergy medicines, and maybe, just maybe, my work stuff (computer, folders, planner). The fact that this style of bag can be worn three ways — on the shoulder, as a crossbody and as a backpack — sealed the deal. In practice it's not the perfect all-in-one bag for me. I find I can't put as much stuff in it as I can in some of my other bags, but I love the caramel color and the quality of the smooth, thick leather. Plus, I love its style. What I didn't show in the video is the bright red diaper bag organizer/insert that all Lily Jade bags come with. I was glad to hear that Lily Jade has since improved the quality of the insert because I didn't love mine. It was too floppy. I think the new ones have been reinforced, plus they come with handles now and they come in a beautiful jade color.
Thank you for joining me as I walk through all the stuff I'm carrying in these bags this month. Hopefully this video will give you some ideas for how you can adapt bags you already might own to use for your mom/work/kid all-around needs. Or maybe if you're in the market for a new bag, I heartily recommend these two!
